Dear H.M. MacDonald Elementary School Community,

I am delighted to welcome you back for the 2024-2025 school year! It is both an honor and a pleasure to join you as your new Principal. Over the past few weeks, I have worked closely with Mr. Stewart to ensure a smooth transition, and I am committed to the continued success and vision of HM.

Please be assured I am deeply invested in the best interests of our students, staff, and community. I am excited to build upon the strong foundation laid by those before me and to work together towards our shared goals.

I feel very fortunate to be joining such a supportive and engaged school community. The commitment of our parents, guardians, volunteers, and community members is truly inspiring and plays a significant role in creating memorable and enjoyable experiences for our students.

At HM, our primary goal is to inspire and motivate every student to learn. We are dedicated to providing engaging academic experiences that meet educational standards while sparking curiosity and a love for learning. Beyond academics, we are committed to nurturing students' overall well-being with programs and activities that promote physical, emotional and social health. Our goal is to support every student in becoming not only a better learner but also a healthier, more resilient, and caring individual.

As we transition from summer to the new school year, I am confident that the 2024-2025 school year will be a wonderful and exciting one. I want to express my gratitude for the warm welcome I have already received and look forward to meeting the entire school community, including parents, guardians, volunteers, and School Advisory Council members. Please join us for the Meet the Teacher Barbecue on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.

Additionally, I am pleased to announce that our school will continue to offer free school supplies to all students this year. Students are only required to bring a backpack, lunch box/bag, headphones/earbuds, a water bottle, and indoor sneakers.

More information regarding the Provincial School Lunch Program, which will begin later this fall, will be shared in the coming weeks. I will provide details on this initiative as soon as they become available.

I am eager to embark on this journey with you and look forward to a fantastic year ahead.
