Dear HM Parents, Guardians, and Students,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!
As we begin another exciting year at H.M. MacDonald Elementary School, I am filled with gratitude and optimism for the opportunities that lie ahead. Our school continues to be a place where students, staff, and families work together to create a caring, inclusive, and supportive community where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
We have much to celebrate as we open our doors this September. Over the summer, the second phase of our school renovations was completed, and we are thrilled to welcome students back to a beautifully transformed learning environment. Students will enjoy our newly renovated library, which also serves as a vibrant multi-purpose learning space, along with fresh paint and custom-built shelving systems in our remaining classrooms. These improvements create bright, inviting, and functional spaces that support learning, collaboration, creativity, and exploration. We are incredibly excited for students to experience these enhanced spaces as we begin the new school year together.
As we move forward, our H.M. MacDonald theme continues to guide us: “Building Bridges Through Kindness, Belonging and Growth.” This theme reflects our commitment to fostering strong relationships, celebrating diversity, and ensuring that every person feels seen, valued, and supported. At HM, we believe that when students feel connected and cared for, they are empowered to take risks, embrace challenges, and reach their full potential.
Our dedicated staff remains committed to creating engaging learning experiences that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and personal growth. Through meaningful classroom instruction, outdoor learning opportunities, leadership experiences, and community connections, we strive to help every student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
I look forward to working alongside our wonderful students, families, staff, and community partners as we build on the many successes of previous years. Together, we will continue to nurture a school environment where kindness leads the way, belonging is valued, and every learner is encouraged to grow and thrive.
